Chairman/CEO

Stephen Lawrence

Geographic Location: Luxembourg

Role: To develop industry leading cold storage and associated food production facilities across Europe. In addition, Stephen manages existing pan-European investments in Real Estate and other sectors.

Career History: Stephen is trained as a chartered surveyor and has been a property investor & developer for the last 25 years, investing in the UK and across Europe.  

Stephen has been involved in developing several platforms with a combined value in excess £5 billion covering UK light industrial, Central London offices, European last mile logistics, pan-European warehousing and strategic land.

Stephen has owned, in partnership, trophy assets including the Royal Exchange and Chelsea Harbour.

About Stephen: In his free time, Stephen enjoys skiing, cycling and sailing.

Director

Andrew Lawrence

Geographic Location: UK

Role: Andrew is responsible for Sadel’s Investments in Coldstores and its substantial development platform. He is also advises on all other Sadel investments and the overall strategy of the group.

Career History: Andrew has spent 11 years working in Logistics having operated at all levels of the industry from warehouse operative to Managing Director.

About Andrew: In his spare time, Andrew enjoys Skiing, cooking and going to live sporting events.

Chief Financial Officer

David Bannerman

Geographic Location: Luxembourg

Role: Directing the financial strategy and legal structuring of the Group to optimise returns to investors.

Career History: Qualified Accountant and Chartered Surveyor, David has been working in Luxembourg for 25 years, 20 of which he has spent in the Real estate sector.

About David: David enjoys all forms of outdoor pursuits, and is a keen cyclist, having completed may tours in France, Italy and Spain, as well as many outings in the hills of Luxembourg.

Director

Mathew Johnson

Geographic Location: UK

Role: Mathew is responsible for financial modelling and investment appraisal across the Sadel Group.

Career History: Mathew began his career at Deustche Bank after graduating from the University of Nottingham. Mathew joined Sadel Group from the London Stock Exchange Group in 2020.

About Mathew: In his spare time, Mathew enjoys skiing, golfing, cycling and spending time with his young family.

General Counsel

Shane Mitchell

Geographic Location: UK

Role: Managing the legal requirements of the Sadel Group.

Career History: Shane spent 11 years in private practice working for market leading UK and US law firms. Shane was recruited by the Sadel Group to manage the group’s legal matters.

About Shane: In his spare time, Shane is an avid traveller and likes to play darts.

Property Director

Danielle Lawrence

Geographic Location: UK

Role: Dani is responsible for Sadel Group’s property portfolio looking at both the asset management and acquisition.

Career History: Dani joined Sadel in 2020, having previously consulted on the property portfolio for 8 years. Prior to working at Sadel Dani worked at Marcol as an acquisitions surveyor and asset manager. She is a qualified Chartered Surveyor.

About Danielle: Dani is kept busy with three young children at home. She enjoys travelling with and without them! In her free time Dani enjoys watching sport, both rugby and football, she is an Arsenal fan.

Director Sadel Development Management Limited

Jonathan Gagg

Geographic Location: UK

Role: Jonathan is responsible for all Sadel’s construction, Engineering and technology projects, working alongside the Magnavale team.

Career History: Jonathan joined the business in February 2011. In the last 19 years, since relocating from Australia, he has worked within the operations, engineering, project, property and procurement disciplines in temperature-controlled storage and value-added facilities.

About Jonathan: Jonathan enjoys walking in the Lake District and travelling with his family. He also enjoys live sport particularly rugby and is also an avid Formula 1 fan.

Marketing and Research Director

Shane Meharg

Geographic Location: UK

Role: Shane manages a centralised research and marketing team that supports all the individual businesses within the Sadel Group and our wider vision for future expansion.

Career History: Starting his career at pan-European logistics giant, DFDS, Shane was recruited by Magnavale (now part of the Sadel Group) to develop national and international relationships within the food industry.

About Shane: In his spare time, Shane takes advantage of his positioning in the Midlands to go hiking in the Peak District and Snowdonia national parks with his fiancé and Bernese Mountain dog.

Strategic Land Director

Sam Cordery

Geographic Location: UK

Role: As Strategic Land Director, Sam is responsible for site acquisition, development management and maximising opportunities on existing operational sites.

Career History: Sam studied Economics and Geography at the University of Birmingham before undertaking a MSc in Real Estate at Bayes Business School. Before joining Sadel Group, Sam spent three years at Related Argent as part of the development management team delivering the 180-acre Brent Cross Town regeneration. Sam is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors

About Sam: In his spare time, Sam enjoys running, cycling and squash.

European Real Estate Director

Edward Nieuwenhuys

Geographic Location: Netherlands

Role: Edward is part of the Sadel Team as real estate expert and works closely with the Business Development Team on the future expansions.

Career History: Having 25+ years’ experience in the real estate industry Edward is a seasoned real estate professional.

About Edward: I enjoy playing golf & hockey and can’t wait to go on the next ski or cycling trip.

Company Secretary

Theresa Potocki

Geographic Location: UK

Role: Theresa is responsible for maintaining all corporate books and records for the UK companies ensuring these are maintained, up-to-date and all legal filings made on time.  Managing the insurance records for all UK entities ensuring coverage is maintained and any claims made in a timely manner.  Theresa also manages data rooms for corporate transactions.

Career History: Theresa joined the business in April 2017. In the past has worked within the construction sector working within the governance section (both contractual and bidding) and has also worked within the utility sector as part of the Quality and HSE teams maintaining ISO9001 accreditation and auditing.

About Theresa: Theresa enjoys spending time with her family and travelling.

Investment Director

Jack Price

Geographic Location: UK

Role: Jack is responsible for investment appraisal and new deal origination for Sadel Group.

Career History: Prior to joining the Sadel Group, Jack worked within the investment division of Sadel Group, Isara Capital. Jack has previously worked for both KPMG and PwC in their corporate finance teams, specialising in M&A’s and Debt & Capital Advisory.

About Jack: Jack enjoys spending time with friends and his family walking his dog in the Yorkshire Dales. He enjoys all sports, and until recently played semi-professional rugby union. He now focuses his spare time on running, going to the gym and playing golf.
